Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Tuesday, February 13th, 2018

Georgia Tech-Savannah’s Learners & Leaders session, “Three Key Principles of Influence: Driving Business Deals and Effective Negotiations,” was led by G’Sean Williams. More than 80 attendees came to learn from the supply chain expert.

“What is the next negotiation that you see yourself in? You must develop a strategy prior to walking in by evaluating three key elements: scope, time, and cost of the deal,” said G’Sean Williams, executive director of supply chain and supplier performance for SMS Advisors. “Break it down by mastering these keys and the relationship between parties involved.”

From Gulfstream executives to business brokers to non-profit leaders, attendees gathered to enhance their negotiation skills. The interactive discussion focused on the philosophies of negotiation, understanding micro and macro dynamics, and the stages of reaching a settlement. Williams will be elaborating on the keys from the session as he teaches the first course in Georgia Tech’s procurement and supply management certificate program.
