Labor Commissioner to Meet with Local Business Leaders in Pooler April 18th

Georgia Labor Commissioner Mark Butler will host the first of 12 regional business summits on April 18.
 
The event will be held at the National Museum of the Mighty 8th Air Force, 175 Bourne Ave., Pooler, from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

The meeting is designed as an empowering opportunity to learn about new and amended labor laws and regulations and legislation that affect business in 2018.
 
Commissioner Butler will speak on current GDOL initiatives and programs and what Georgia is doing to encourage job growth and economic development.
 
Other speakers include an expert in labor law and a representative from the U.S. Department of Labor who will present on the legal and regulatory environment facing all businesses in 2018.
 
There will also be a panel of experts discussing hot topics such as harassment, FMLA, workers’ compensation and more.  This program is approved for five professional development credits for the Society of Human Resource Management.
