City of Savannah and Chatham County CARES Act Grant Applications to Open on September 1st

Applications for CARES Act funding for businesses in the City of Savannah and Chatham County will open on September 1, 2020 at 8:00 AM and will remain open until September 8, 2020 at 5:00 PM.
 
City of Savannah businesses with 10 or fewer employees can apply for grants of up to $20,000. The available funds will be distributed equally according to the following priorities: small business in Neighborhood Revitalization areas (CDBG neighborhoods), micro-businesses with 5 or fewer employees, minority-owned businesses, and general businesses in Savannah impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Total funding available will be $1.6 million for Savannah businesses. 
 
Businesses in Chatham County (excluding the City of Savannah) can apply for grants of up to $50,000. Funds will be set aside for distinct target populations: Minority and Women-owned businesses, Businesses in the unincorporated County areas, and all other businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
All applications will be taken online at https://sbacsav.com/caresgrant/.
 
For both grants, applicants will need to provide digital uploads of the following documents:

1.   Current Business License or Occupational Tax Certificate

2.   Last filed Business Tax Return

3.   Monthly Profit and Loss statements from January to June 2020
