Imperium Capital Enters Savannah Market with Acquisition of Truck & Trailer Parking Facility

Tuesday, August 31st, 2021

New York-based Imperium Capital, founded by real estate industry veterans Daniel Glaser and Sam Schneider, today announces its acquisition of a secured truck and trailer parking facility in Savannah, Georgia. The site was purchased by Imperium’s new industrial platform IG Logistics for $1,750,000. Located at 32 Mincey Boulevard, the four-acre site is a last mile logistics property just three miles from the booming Port of Savannah and has been leased to Lightning Transportation, a local company specializing in intermodal land transportation for import-export cargo. This acquisition signifies Imperium Capital’s first point of entry into Savannah.

In 2020, Imperium Capital formed IG Logistics, an industrial platform with a laser-focus on acquiring properties with a large outdoor storage or transportation element. The new vertical specializes in acquiring and developing infill assets in high barrier to entry, urban growth markets where demand for logistics real estate is driven by e-commerce. IG Logistics’ strategy focuses on last mile facilities that are critical to the supply chain.

“The acquisition of this last mile logistics property fits perfectly into our new platform IG Logistics,” said Daniel Glaser, Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Imperial Capital. “Our focus remains heavily on the industrial space and we are in contract on several transportation and logistics sites in similar high-growth and urban infill markets throughout the country. We are particularly excited about Savannah as we have watched as the Port of Savannah has really grown exponentially. This is our first purchase here and we hope it leads to a lot more.”

Savannah is among the busiest U.S. ports for containerized cargo, and the Port of Savannah recently announced they are now moving record-breaking volumes of cargo, growing it’s cargo volumes by 20 percent in 2021.
