Southern Aviation Parts & Services LLC (SAPS) celebrated the completion of their new manufacturing facility September 24, 2014. Located at 123 Westside Boulevard in Pooler, the company provides general aviation services including engineering, fabrication, and high end finishing.  This facility represents the first phase in multiple expansions.

Currently employing over 50 individuals, SAPS provides a complete line of high end corporate and general aviation services through its underlying affiliates, including aircraft modifications. Co-founders Hoss Motlagh, Jimmy Galbreath, and Hector Mejia all have extensive experience in the aviation industry, each with over 30 years of experience in aviation.

“The intention of Southern Aviation Parts and Services is to provide every aspect of aircraft completion and modification,” says Hoss Motlagh, company co-founder. “Combining the entire process in one facility provides our clients with an efficient and diligent process.”

Guests were given the opportunity to tour the brand new 47,000 state of the art manufacturing facility following a brief ribbon cutting ceremony attended by employees, associates, and many local supporters. Words of appreciation were given by several Savannah and Pooler dignitaries and leaders including Pooler Mayor Mike Lamb, Savannah Mayor Edna Jackson, Savannah Economic Development Authority President and CEO Trip Tollison, and Savannah Airport Commission Vice-Chairman Stephen S. "Since announcing in November 2013, Southern Aviation Parts and Services has solidified itself as a part of the growing aerospace supplier cluster in Savannah," says Trip Tollison, Savannah Economic Development Authority President and CEO. "With this facility, SAPS will be able to meet the growing demand for their services which in turn will lead to more jobs and economic growth for our region."

“We are delighted that Southern Aviation has chosen the City of Pooler and Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport as locations for their new company,” adds Steve Green, Savannah Airport Commission. “We look forward to continuing our relationship with Southern Aviation, and to Phase 2 of this project when work begins at the airport location.”

Southern Aviation Parts and Services has already started plans for the next expansion phase which includes additional facilities located at the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport. This hangar facility will support all sizes of VIP and corporate aircraft, including wide body models such as the Boeing 747. Once this expansion is complete Southern Aviation Parts and Services is projecting total employment to reach 200.
