Savannah’s Second Annual Woof Woof 5k Run/Walk Over Pet Cancer Tomorrow

Press release from the issuing company

Friday, October 31st, 2014

Get ready to help fight pet cancer in Savannah! TailsSpin Pet Supplies, Fleet Feet Sports, Southeast Veterinary Oncology, and Blue Buffalo Pet Food are joining forces for Savannah’s Second Pet-Friendly 5K Walk/Run through Midtown Savannah. This Second Annual Woof Woof 5k Run/Walk Over Pet Cancer will take place Saturday morning, November 1st, 2014, with the course winding through Habersham Village and Ardsley Park.

In addition to raising funds and awareness for pet cancer research and treatment, the event is also attempting to break the Guinness World Record for “Most Dogs in a Costume Parade.” The current record to break is 337 Dogs in Costume, broken in 2011 in San Diego, CA.

The event organizers are confident that the citizens of “dog friendly” Savannah will participate to well break this world record.  They also feel strongly that this record attempt is well suited for Savannah, using its beautiful streets for the Dog Parade.

Rules for breaking this Guinness World Record include: One handler per dog, a copy of recent vet records per dog indicating current rabies vaccination status and pet’s good health, and a pet costume of at least 2 pieces. More information about registration for the run/walk and the costume requirements, as well as donations, can also be found at www.WoofWoofRun.com. On the day of the event, Saturday November 1st, check-in begins at 7:30am, with the run/walk slated to start at 9:00am.

Activities will include Free Pet Portraits, Pet Sketches, a Memorial and Celebration of Pets, Bouncy Houses, Local Vendors, Music, and Food.  All proceeds from the event will benefit the Blue Buffalo Pet Cancer Research Foundation, Savannah’s Hope Chest Foundation, and, of course, Savannah’s Pet Rescue Agencies.  For further details and information, please visit www.TailsSpin.com or www.WoofWoofRun.com
