The 2015 Critz Tybee Run Fest is excited to announce new components added to the 2015 race weekend.

One of the two longest races, part of the much-loved two day, five race Run Fest, has been recertified on USTF standards. “With over 1,350 registered runners in the Half Marathon , we wanted to make sure that these loyal participants were able to use the Critz Tybee Run Fest results for ranking and seeding in USTF races all over the country,” said Dale Critz Jr. Co- founder and main sponsor of the Critz Tybee Run Fest.

The 2015 Half Marathon runners can expect to see exciting new medal designs featuring the new title sponsor, Chu’s Mart www.chusmart.com. Redesigned medals are also in store for the participants who will master all five races over the two-day festival.  New this year, medals or commemorative tokens will be gifted to runners of the 2.8 Mile Beach Run, sponsored by Lighthouse Pizza on Tybee Island www.lighthousepizza.net.  The YMCA 1 Mile Fun Run has added a fun component with noisemakers for runners to get in the mood, along with the  “fastest dog plus human” award presented by the YMCA partner www.fosterfit.org, a pilot program encouraging humans and their four-legged friends to walk, move or run.

Friday’s events will be kicked off with the “Kids Party”, which includes cookie decorating hosted by Byrd Cookie Company www.byrdcookiecompany.com, followed by the Basil’s Kids Run, www.basilsonline.com. Following the Kid’s Run is the North Beach Bar & Grill 5K Night Run that illuminates the Tybee Sky with glow necklaces worn by runners and spectators. After the run, join the fun and live music at the North Beach Bar & Grill Party www.northbeachbarandgrill.net.

On Saturday runners and participants will mingle with sponsors, partners and the organizers of the Run Fest in the festival zone, which is open from 7 AM – 3 PM. The VIP tent, presented by Savannah Magazine and longtime partner of the Run Fest, Savannah Morning News, is hosting groups of runners, partners and guests in a relaxed atmosphere.
