TAG Hosts High Tech Week at State Capitol

The Technology Association of Georgia today announced it will hold its High Technology Week at the Georgia State Capitol the Week of February 23, 2015. The event is the yearly gathering of members of the state’s technology community to visit with key legislators. Sponsors for the event include Fiserv, Google and QTS.    

During this year’s High Tech Week, technology community representatives from the Health IT and FinTech—financial technology—industry will be urging legislators to move on TAG’s legislative agenda which focuses on five main policy areas: Business and Industry, Economic Development and Taxation, Education and Workforce, Procurement, and Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

This year, High Tech Week will focus on SB 89, the Digital Classroom Act. The Digital Classroom Act, which will require elementary and secondary education instructional materials and content to be in digital or electronic format on and after July 1, 2020. Technology is embedded in every aspect of our lives, and education is no exception. TAG is supportive of efforts where there are increased connectivity, educational collaboration, workforce readiness, economic growth and technology investment in Georgia.
