Ogeechee Riverkeeper, Moon River Partner for Mardi Gras Fundraiser

Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Friday, February 24th, 2017

Join Moon River Brewing Company for a Fat Tuesday celebration to benefit Ogeechee Riverkeeper. Throughout the month of February, Moon River is focused on raising money to support the regional nonprofit’s work. This fundraising initiative will culminate with a Mardi Gras party at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28 at Moon River Brewing Company, 21 W. Bay St. in downtown Savannah.

During February, Moon River will sell paper alligators for $1 each to patrons, and all proceeds will be donated to Ogeechee Riverkeeper. These paper alligators, which purchasers can sign or write other well wishes on, will fill the restaurant during the Mardi Gras celebration, giving the event an especially festive flair. During the party, guests can purchase dinner and drinks from Moon River while enjoying T-shirt giveaways, beads and pint glasses, courtesy of Ogeechee Riverkeeper. Interested revelers are encouraged to arrive early because party supplies are expected to go fast.

“Ogeechee Riverkeeper is greatly looking forward to not only celebrating, but also to spreading the word about our organization’s mission,” Ogeechee Riverkeeper Executive Director Emily Markesteyn Kurilla said. “We are grateful to Moon River for this opportunity and we can’t wait to share great beer and good times with our supporters.”

Bring friends to this exciting event to enjoy delicious Moon River craft beer, gourmet menu items, and learn about the Ogeechee Riverkeeper’s mission to protect, preserve, and improve the water quality of the Ogeechee River basin.
