Ruthie Lynah has joined Celia Dunn Sotheby’s International Realty as a sales associate.

A licensed Georgia real estate agent, Lynah also has a home staging and redesign business focusing on staging homes for sale. Often, Lynah rearranges and uses the homeowner’s own belongings in a fresh new way to transform the look of a room.

“It’s a natural thing for me to walk into a room and know how to make it look better,” Lynah said. “Home staging is really a visual approach, looking at the scale of the room and the furniture placement. I just have a natural eye for it. A well-staged home sells.”

It’s crucial in real estate to have great listening skills and to be able to communicate well with your client, Lynah said.

“If you can’t listen to what the homeowner wants, you aren’t going to meet their needs,” she explained. “I’ve always been focused on providing great customer service. You have to put the client first and know that your client is your number one priority.”

Lynah has an extensive background in sales. She worked in high-end retail sales for many years, as a Talbots manager for more than 10 years and as a sales consultant for Eileen Fisher.

For more than 10 years, Lynah has worked as a tour guide in the Savannah Historic District, a National Landmark, showcasing the city to corporate groups, business conventions, and student classes. She has studied and spent time in all of downtown Savannah hosting thousands of visitors around America's first planned city.

A fifth-generation Savannahian, Lynah is exceptionally knowledgeable about the many lifestyle options the area offers, from Tybee and the islands to Richmond Hill, and she understands the unique features of the many neighborhoods in Savannah. She lived at Long Point for many years and currently lives in the Ardsley Park - Chatham Crescent area.

Lynah and her daughter have been active with Savannah Arts Academy, Garrison School for the Arts and Hancock Day School. They have been involved with Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church and Community Bible Church. Lynah is a member of Georgia Historical Society, Historic Savannah Foundation and Ardsley Park – Chatham Crescent Neighborhood Association. Lynah attended Calvary Day School and studied early childhood education at Armstrong State College (now University).
