2017 Class for the Savannah Man & Woman of the Year Campaign Announced for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
Staff Report From Savannah CEO
Monday, March 6th, 2017
Each year, in communities across the country, dynamic and passionate candidates engage in a spirited fundraising competition to raise critical funds for blood cancer research. The individuals who raise the most funds during Savannah’s 10 week campaign for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society earn the titles of Man, Woman and Student of the Year. Title-holders will be announced at the campaign’s Grand Finale Gala at Savannah Station on Friday, May 12, 2017. The All Star Alumni candidates are representing Savannah on a national level and the winners will be announced in July.
The candidates are community and business leaders who are philanthropic, ambitious, socially active, resourceful and passionate about making a difference in the lives of people suffering from blood cancers. Their relentless ambition drives them to fundraise with remarkable results. This year's candidate class includes eleven community leaders, as well as four Student of the Year candidates and two National All Star Alumni candidates, who as a team, aim to raise $500,000 in ten weeks to fight blood cancer.
