Help a local charity that works to save lives and get a Mother’s Day gift at the same time during the Kendra Gives Back Party Thursday, May 11, 5-8PM, at KENDRA SCOTT ON BROUGHTON STREET, 311 West Broughton Street. This event is open to the public event and 20 percent of the proceeds will benefit the Cory Joseph Wilson Memorial Inc.

A non-profit foundation, the Cory Joseph Wilson Memorial, Inc., honors the memory of the late Cory Wilson, a Savannah native who died at age 21 in 2013 due to a fatal cardiac arrhythmia while in class at Georgia Southern University.  Sadly, there was no AED nearby at that time.

Through various fundraising events, the foundation provides Automated External Defibrillators for facilities in need, including Daffin Park, the Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police Department, Tom Triplett Park, and other locations. Funds have also helped provide four scholarships to Georgia Southern University students. Following Cory’s death, Georgia Southern University developed an intensive, campus-wide AED program. The program included the installation of more than 170 AEDs throughout the university’s campus as well as increased cardiac education.
