Georgia Tech-Savannah Hires Theresa Atkins as Director of Industry Partnerships - Supply Chain & Logistics

Georgia Tech-Savannah recently announced it has hired Theresa Atkins to serve as director of industry partnerships - supply chain & logistics. In that role, she will identify and cultivate strategic partnerships that leverage Georgia Tech resources to build solutions that meet the logistics industry’s learning needs and business objectives.

“With the Port of Savannah and the logistics industry so vital to our area, it was critical to find the right person for this job,” said Diane Lee, director of the Georgia Tech-Savannah campus. “Theresa will prove to be an invaluable asset not only to our campus, but to logistics-based businesses throughout the Coastal Empire.”

Atkins is a logistics professional who has lived and worked in Europe and the U.S. and traveled extensively in Asia. She has a background in contract logistics, international freight forwarding, U.S. transportation management, and supply chain software. A strategic relationship management specialist, Atkins has worked for several global 3PL (Third Party Logistics) organizations, including Agility, DB Schenker and MIQ Logistics, where she developed key account management programs and managed both operations and sales teams.
 
Originally from the United Kingdom, Atkins earned a Master of Arts degree in French and business studies from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland and an Master of Science degree in international logistics from Georgia Institute of Technology.
