The Next Generation, a volunteer organization founded to benefit the Dwaine & Cynthia Willett Children’s Hospital of Savannah, is pleased to announce its 4th Annual Summer Soiree will be held Friday, June 30, 2017. This special fundraising event will begin at 7 p.m. at the Savannah Yacht Club and feature a special ambulance reveal presented by Ameris Bank at 7:45 p.m. as part of the conclusion of the organization’s Angel Wings Campaign.

In 2014, The Next Generation launched its Angel Wings Campaign in an effort to fund the purchase of a new pediatric intensive care ambulance for the Willett Children’s Hospital of Savannah at Memorial University Medical Center. In all, The Next Generation raised over $300,000 to successfully reach their goal and deliver the ambulance to the hospital.

“Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community and countless hours of hard work from our volunteers and board of directors, we have our ambulance,” said The Next Generation President Jamie Lane. “We’re thrilled to unveil the new ‘Angel Wings’ ambulance at our annual Summer Soiree event later this month. We have some wonderful plans in the works to make it a very special moment!”

The new pediatric intensive care ambulance is a critical addition to the Willett Children’s Hospital which serves 32 counties and countless children. “In a situation where seconds matter, a specialized pediatric ambulance will no doubt save lives,” said Lane.

The new ambulance was custom built specifically to include the latest technology and medical equipment available on the market to secure a safe transport for critically ill pediatric patients. In addition, the ambulance is also large enough to hold a member of the child’s family so they can travel with their baby or child to the Willett Children’s Hospital.

Proceeds from this year’s Summer Soiree event will go towards The Next Generation’s next mission to fund the build out of the pediatric ER ambulance entry so children in dire need of emergency care do not have to enter through the general emergency room entrance.

As the sun sets on the Savannah Yacht Club, guests will enjoy an evening of heavy hors d'oeuvres, specialty cocktails, and live music to dance the night away. Tickets cost $100 per person and can be purchased online at www.nextgenerationsavannah.com or memorialhealth.com/summersoiree.
