Savannah State Foundation Elects New Board, Officers

The Savannah State University Foundation, Inc., Board of Directors elected officers for the 2017-2019 term, along with its re-elected directors for the 2017-2020 term.

The SSUF annual board meeting was held on Saturday, May 20, 2017, on the SSU campus. During its annual meeting, the election of directors and new officers were included on the agenda. The board congratulated and commended the outgoing officers for their service.

The newly elected officers for 2017-2019 are William T. Simmons, Ph.D., (chairman); LaTanga I. Allen-Felder (vice chairmen); Honorable Barbara J. Mobley (recording secretary); Honorable Emanuel Larkin, Jr. (treasurer); John Kelley, Jr. (financial secretary); and vice president of SSU’s University Advancement Phillip D. Adams (executive director).

The re-elected board directors for 2017-2020 are LaTanga Allen-Felder, Capt. Bernard L. Jackson, Lieu. Gen. Walter E. Gaskin, William T. Simmons, Ph.D., Steven L. Gerido, and Rev. Daniel Stevenson.

Barbara L. McGhee, president of the SSU Community Booster Club, Inc., and Sarah Dillard, president of the SSU Student Government Association were also appointed to the SSUF board of directors.
