Yoga for Cancer Patients and Survivors

6:30 p.m., Tuesdays, and 12:45 p.m., Thursdays, FitnessOne, 3rd floor of the Memorial Outpatient and Wellness Center

These weekly yoga classes are free for cancer survivors and those in treatment. The classes help expand flexibility and balance while also providing relaxation. The instructor is Yoga Alliance registered with more than 200 hours of training, including specialized yoga training for cancer survivors at OM Yoga in New York. Bariatric Surgery Information Session

American Red Cross Blood Drive

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive at Memorial University Medical Center from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the blood donor room, located by the Medical Center Pharmacy. Greater Savannah Area Breast Cancer Support Group

4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, July 9, in the lobby of the Curtis and Elizabeth Anderson Cancer Institute at Memorial University Medical Center

This meeting is open to breast cancer patients and their caregivers in the greater Savannah, Hilton Head, and Coastal Georgia area. These sessions often include special presentations from the local medical community, are informal, and are conducted in a discussion format to encourage participation by all in attendance. Prostate Cancer Support Group: Man to Man

6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 12, in the Conference Room of the Curtis and Elizabeth Anderson Cancer Institute at Memorial University Medical Center

This group is for men who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer and their caregivers. The group provides a variety of educational and support programs. Monday Evening Prepared Childbirth Session

6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday, July 17 and Monday, July 24, at Memorial University Medical Center

This two-evening course gives an overview of reproductive anatomy and physiology and explains the process of labor and delivery in simple, easy-to-understand terms. It is designed for parents who have schedules that make it difficult to attend weekend or day classes. This course includes a tour of the labor and delivery unit. 12th Annual Savannah Uncorked

This annual wine-tasting raises funds to support Parker’s Emergency & Trauma Center and the critical care division at Memorial University Medical Center. Basic Breastfeeding Class

6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday July 25, Memorial University Medical Center

This two-hour session is designed to educate and support the mother planning to breastfeed. Topics include preparing to breastfeed, basic breastfeeding concepts, nutrition, and a discussion of common concerns. Issues such as family support for the breastfeeding mother, the father’s role in feeding, and how to breastfeed and continue to work are also covered. Your support person is encouraged to attend.
