Both St. Joseph’s Hospital and Candler Hospital have been recognized by Premier Inc. for reducing preventable hospital-acquired conditions and readmissions, as part of their participation during the federal Partnership for Patients Hospital Engagement Network 2.0 initiative.

During the national HEN 2.0 initiative, Premier’s HEN worked with more than 450 hospitals to meet goals in 11 harm areas and make improvement in 30-day readmissions.

As a member of Premier’s HEN, St. Joseph’s/Candler’s two anchor hospitals are two of 22 hospitals to receive the Premier Partnership for Patients HEN 2.0 Award for being in the top 10 percent of HEN 2.0 hospitals for total score based on the 11 harm areas. They were recognized during Premier’s annual Breakthroughs Conference and Exhibition in Washington D.C.

“Working on this initiative reinforces our commitment to reliably deliver the best care experience to our community,” said Dr. Julia Mikell, Director of System Quality Performance for St. Joseph’s/Candler. “We’re proud to receive the Premier Partnership for Patients HEN 2.0 Award as we continue down our path of reducing HACs and readmissions.”

“St. Joseph’s/Candler is a prime example of performance improvement in healthcare,” said Roshni Ghosh MD, vice president of government services, chief medical information officer, Premier. “Through commitment, transparency, trust and engagement they are collaborating with peers to create a culture of safe, reliable and coordinated care. We are constantly amazed by these accomplishments. Premier congratulates everyone at St. Joseph’s/Candler for their hard work and tremendous achievements.”
