The Desoto, a 127-year-old hotel currently undergoing renovations, recently donated furnishings to the Catholic Diocese of Savannah, Savannah Baptist Center, and Bethesda Academy.

“As we are going through these renovations, we certainly wanted to make sure the furnishings were sent to groups in our community that could benefit from having them,” said Jeff Kmiec, managing director of The Desoto. “Part of our company philosophy is to not only be a part of the community, but to help make a difference when we have the opportunity.”

The DeSoto is undergoing a massive, multimillion-dollar renovation and total restructuring of offerings and services in 2017. The DeSoto now features a number of new upgrades to its 246 guestrooms, a new terrace pool and cabana bar, a gourmet-to-go coffee bar, and two new chef-driven restaurants, Edgar’s Proof & Provision and the 1540 Room.
