Gene Gibson Named Vice President of Community Banking at United Community Bank

United Community Bank has recently named Gene Gibson vice president of Community Banking. In this role, Gibson will work with the president of Community Banking in assisting with the management and support of the regional bank presidents.  He will also be directly responsible for leading the Deposit Operations, Customer Contact Centers, Sales and Service, Card Solutions, Advisory Services, Purchasing and Facilities Management.

Gene Gibson has served as Regional President for United Community Bank in the Coastal Georgia area since 2010 and has supervised activities in the Savannah, Brunswick and Macon communities.  Prior to this role, he served as Market President for Regions Bank in Savannah, Ga. Earlier in his career, Gibson specialized in commercial banking with Wachovia, Union Planters Bank and Bank of America.

Gibson will be based in Greenville, S.C. He and his wife have five children. He is a graduate of the University of North Texas and received his MBA from Mississippi State University.
