Tony Martin Presents to GA Society of CPAs on Impacting Business Transitions

Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Monday, August 28th, 2017

On August 16th, 2017 Tony Martin was a guest speaker at the Savannah Chapter of The Georgia Society of CPA’s.  His presentation was on the tax implications of a business sale from both the buyer and seller’s perspective. Tony illustrated how the sale of a business can be one of the highest taxed transactions in the marketplace with the tax owed by both the buyer and seller potentially being over the actual sales value.  As such, he discussed several ways that both buyers and sellers can put themselves and the business in a more advantageous position.

While most strategies need to be implemented prior to the business sale, he discussed several options that are still available on a post-sale basis. Tony Martin is a Principal with M3 Advisors and assists owners in structuring optimal business outcomes.
