Great Dane Drives Innovation and Value at NACV Show

Great Dane is proud to showcase a variety of customizable trailers, truck bodies and innovations at the inaugural North American Commercial Vehicle Show (NACV Show). The event is being held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, from September 25-28. The theme of Great Dane’s display at Booth #3864 is “Driven by Innovation.”

“For over 100 years, Great Dane has been committed to American innovation,” said Chris Hammond, Great Dane’s executive vice president of Sales. “We want visitors to the Great Dane booth to experience how this innovation continues to keep our customers ahead of the curve with products that drive value while ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of goods.”

Among the items on display at Great Dane’s booth are:

A 53’ Everest Single-Temp Refrigerated Trailer featuring Great Dane’s patented ThermoGuard liner enhanced with Microban® broad-spectrum antimicrobial protection that helps fight bacteria growth, stains and odors for the entire life of the trailer. This reefer also features Great Dane’s new FleetPulse telematics system, which provides basic pre-trip inspection checks, in-route maintenance alerts and preventative maintenance schedule notifications to drivers and fleet managers while on the road. Several safety features are also highlighted on this trailer, including Great Dane’s new RIG30 rear impact guard, Hendrickson MAXX 22T air disc brakes and high-output interior LED strip lighting. Finally, this trailer features many GHG2-compliant options, including a Wabco OptiFlow aerodynamic side skirt, Bridgestone Ecopia R197 low rolling resistance tires and Hendrickson TIREMAAX PRO automatic tire inflation systems.

A 53’ Champion Composite Plate Dry Van featuring a new, lighter weight design and Great Dane’s FleetPulse telematics system. This trailer also includes several hot dipped galvanized options for corrosion resistance, including the rear frame and the RIG30 rear impact guard. Other notable features on this versatile trailer include an integral HD extruded aluminum high base rail, Strehl TrailerBlade aerodynamic side skirt, Hendrickson MAXX 22T air disc brakes and TIREMAAX PRO automatic tire inflation systems, and Accuride Accu-Lite steel wheels with Accu-Shield easy cleaning finish.

A 53’ Freedom XP All-Aluminum Flatbed Trailer featuring a special corrosion package that includes a rear-axle sliding, front-axle fixed Hendrickson INTRAAX AANT 23K air ride suspension with galvanized suspension slider box, JOST AX150 all-aluminum landing gear and a galvanized upper coupler. This trailer also features a 10-year limited warranty and Great Dane’s FleetPulse telematics system. Other features include 4” extruded aluminum I-beams on 16” centers with a single coil reinforcement package, Sturdylite aluminum dunnage rack, 22.5” Accuride aluminum disc wheels, an Air-Weigh load scale and a Grote 100% LED Long Life Lighting System with nine lights per side and six stop, tail, turn lights.

A 24’6” Alpine S-Series Refrigerated Truck Body featuring Great Dane’s patented ThermoGuard liner enhanced with Microban® broad-spectrum antimicrobial protection that helps fight bacteria growth, stains and odors for the entire life of the truck body. Great Dane also partnered with lightweight metals engineers from Arconic to develop a prototype lightweight, aluminum rear frame design for the Alpine. This frame provides a 45-percent weight savings over the former stainless steel design. Other features on this sheet and post truck body include a curbside door with Great Dane’s unique blade lock, 1.32” aluminum reefer cargo Safety-Grip floors, two rows of full-length horizontal logistics track and a Grote interior motion sensor dome light. It is mounted on a Hino 268 chassis.

A 26’6” Sahara S-Series Dry Freight Truck Body featuring Great Dane’s innovative body tie-down system. This sheet and post truck body has 0.040” aluminum side sheets with steel Z-posts on 16” centers, a 0.24” composite plate front wall with galvanized steel skins, extruded aluminum radius corners, and three rows of recessed A-track logistic tracks. Other notable features include a 36” aerodynamic nose cone, a Maxon factory-installed lift gate, a Grote 100% LED Long Life Lighting System with all-in-one stop, tail, turn and backup lights and an interior motion-sensor dome light. It is mounted on an International M2106 chassis.

A 10’5” Johnson R-Series Fiberglass Composite Refrigerated Truck Body featuring six automotive style doors with keyless entry and six interior and exterior LED strip lights above each door header that are illuminated with the keyless entry. This truck body also features ArcticTherm™ seamless fiberglass interior lining, recessed exterior LED DOT clearance and cluster lights and a 4” stainless steel tubular bumper. Other features include a back-up alarm, a camera system with proximity sensors and an LCD rear view camera and LCD color monitor. It is mounted on a Ford Transit chassis.

The Great Dane booth also features a special display highlighting the company’s Aftermarket services. The company will be introducing its new Aftermarket service event management software, which will provide more transparency around service events, fewer manual processes and more connected processes to simplify estimate creation and improve billing efficiency.  The display also includes information about Great Dane’s AdvantEDGE National Aftermarket Parts & Service Program, which gives members access to its 24/7 Emergency Roadside Service program, controlled ordering and invoicing, competitive labor rates and more. In addition, visitors to the booth can learn about Great Dane’s trailer service technician program, which is accredited by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. Great Dane is the first semi-trailer original equipment manufacturer to receive ASE accreditation.
