In a midday ceremony at the Armstrong State University Student Union Fountain, the Student Government Association dedicated a memorial plaque in memory of all late Armstrong students, faculty and staff.

“The Student Government Association is honored to be able to put this event together and is grateful to dedicate this iconic location on campus in memory of all of the Armstrong students, faculty and staff who have passed away,” said SGA President Nipuna Ambanpola in his opening remarks. “This gives us an opportunity to celebrate their lives and their contributions to our community and be thankful for such leadership, stewardship and scholarship.”

Ambanpola then welcomed Armstrong Interim President Jennifer L. Frum, Ph.D., to the stage and invited guests to join her for the reveal of the memorial plaque on the Student Union Fountain following her address.

“I am honored to be with you as we commemorate the legacy of the remarkable students, faculty and staff of Armstrong in dedicating this fountain in their memory,” stated Frum. “While these individuals are no longer with us, their contributions to the Armstrong community will remain in our hearts and always be remembered. Today’s memorial plaque installation is a testament to the character that fills this campus.”
