Historical Writers Guild of Richmond Hill Seeking New Members: Published, Non-Published or Hobbyists

In an effort to motivate, inspire, and promote camaraderie within the writing community, the Richmond Hill Historical Society invites Richmond Hill and Savannah area writers to join the Historical Writers Guild of Richmond Hill which meets three Monday evenings per month.

The HWG offers a variety of programs for both published and non-published writers to promote their historical fiction and creative non-fiction.  All compatible and cross-genre works to historical writing are welcome.  HWG is also open to hobbyist writers to enjoy a relaxed and fun environment.

Upcoming Events

· Monday, October 23 from 7-9 p.m. Author Kevin Grogan will host a book reading and signing for his new book Black Sheep White Cop: Savannah EXPOsed, an inside look into the rise and fall of the Department and some of the worst crimes committed in Savannah, as well as his writing process and style.

· Monday, November 6 from 7-9 p.m. Writing Skills Workshop: Topic “Internal Dialogue.”

· Monday, November 13 from 7-9 p.m. Authors Joan and Mel Gordon will host a book reading and signing for their book Pulaski: The Forgotten Hero of Two Worlds.

· Monday, November 27 from 7-9 p.m. HWG Read and Critique Session.

HWG annual dues are $20 per writer and include an individual membership to the Richmond Hill Historical Society. Membership includes writing skills workshops, read and critique sessions, free admission to the Richmond Hill History Museum, lectures, and discounts in the Museum gift shop.

Writing skills workshops are held the first Monday of each month from 7-9 p.m.  Read and critique sessions are held the second and fourth Mondays of each month from 7-9 p.m. Please bring a sample of your writing to share with the group. All events are held at the Richmond Hill History Museum located at 11460 Ford Avenue.
