Junior Achievement and Colonial Group, Inc. Announce Laureates for 18th Annual Savannah Business Hall of Fame November 7th

Junior Achievement of Georgia-Coastal Region, along with Colonial Group, Inc., is pleased to announce Richard A. Estus, John R. Paddison and David E. Paddison will be the honored laureates at the organization’s 18th annual Savannah Business Hall of Fame. The event, which honors inductees for business accomplishments and extensive contributions to the city, will be held on Tuesday, November 7, at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center.
 
“All of our inductees are clearly passionate about what they do and that is a large part of why they are successful. I believe their commitment to their community and ability to inspire leave a positive impression on the lives of young people,” said Johnathon Barrett, vice president of JA of Georgia. “And while there are many fathers and sons in the Hall of Fame, this is the first time two will be honored at the same time.”

Richard A. Estus, a well-known outdoor leading advertiser, has expanded the field of outdoor advertising in Savannah as well as other prominent cities in the United States. Through various partnerships, Estus developed the Palmer and Cay building and Southpoint Mall in Savannah. He also founded the Savannah Visitors Center and served as the chairman of the Savannah Economic Development Authority for three years.

During his career, John R. Paddison served as a senior leader with Savannah Bank and Trust Company, running their branch network and retail banking operations. Paddison has also been an avid supporter of the United Way and the Public Library System, viewing public education as the best investment a community can make. He was instrumental in the founding of WSVH, a local station in the Georgia Public Broadcasting network, and is an active participant in the Savannah Photography Club.

David E. Paddison, CPCU, is the founder and current president of  Seacrest Partners, Inc., a privately-held insurance brokerage and employee benefits consulting firm based in Savannah. He has 33 years experience in the insurance brokerage business, starting in 1984 when he joined the commercial insurance division of Palmer & Cay. Paddison is an avid supporter of the local civic and nonprofit community, serving in leadership positions which include being on the boards of Savannah Chamber of Commerce, Union Mission and serves as the chairman of  Savannah Economic Development Authority.

The Savannah Business Hall of Fame is Savannah’s premier black tie business event. The gala will be held at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center on Tuesday, November 7, beginning at 6 p.m. with a cocktail reception, featuring an upscale silent auction. A three-course dinner and the awards ceremony will follow. The evening will culminate with a champagne toast to the inductees who will be honored. More than 500 guests are slated to attend the event.
