The Georgia Department of Economic Development announced that S&S Activewear, a national wholesaler of imprintable apparel, will create 300 jobs in McDonough over the next four years. Newly created jobs include warehouse, supervisory and management positions.

“S&S Activewear is a great addition to Henry County, and represents 300 new jobs for this community,” said GDEcD Commissioner Pat Wilson “It’s a win for us when we are able to attract strong companies like S&S to Georgia, and look forward to having them succeed here.”

The company will add the brand new 505,000-square-foot warehouse in Atlanta to its already expansive national network, allowing the company to operate more than three million square feet nationwide. The center, to be located at the Midland Logistic Center in McDonough, will be operational in the second quarter of 2018.

“The Atlanta facility marks critical progress in S&S’s nationwide expansion,” said Frank Myers, COO of S&S Activewear. “The strategic location and sophistication of the new facility will allow us to provide our industry’s best service and product to our customers in the South East.”

S&S stocks more than 60 brands from basic garments to fashion-forward styles. Its customers are screen printers, embroiderers and promotional products dealers who imprint blank apparel and sell it to corporations, teams, schools, etc. to support their brand message.

“Our number one goal at S&S is to develop partnerships with our customers,” said Jim Shannon, S&S Activewear President. “We dedicate our operations to learning more about who our customers are and what they need, so we can fulfill their best interests.”

“Henry County is excited that S&S Activewear has chosen McDonough to locate its new distribution center,” said Henry County Development Authority Chairman Geoffrey Cauble. “We look forward to our partnership with this outstanding company and to the jobs and investment they will bring to the community.”

GDEcD Logistics, Energy, Agribusiness & Food Team Director Brittany Holtzclaw represented the Global Commerce division throughout this project in partnership with the Henry County Development Authority, the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and Georgia Power.

“S&S Activewear’s expansion in McDonough is another e-commerce win for metro Atlanta,” said Hala Moddelmog, president and CEO of the Metro Atlanta Chamber. “It further solidifies our region’s reputation as a supply chain and logistics leader with the infrastructure and technology to help companies be competitive and continue to grow in this digital age.”
