Gabriel Jean-Louis, a third-year computer science technology major from Hiram Ga., will represent Savannah State University at the annual HBCU Innovation Summit, hosted by UNCF, in the San Francisco Bay area and Silicon Valley October 25-28.

During this summit, students and faculty members representing more than 30 historically black colleges and universities will visit more than dozen tech corporations.

Jean-Louis is interested in software development and wants to create a new operating system that allows for more user-directed customization. Scholars were competitively selected based on GPAs, personal statements, internships, computer science skills, demonstrated leadership and their willingness to serve as change agents on their respective campuses.
