Hilton’s newest brand, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, continues to grow with the addition of three vibrant and unique hotels, all of which anchor notable southern, coastal cities in America. The Troubadour New Orleans opens, and The Cotton Sail Hotel Savannah (Georgia) and Hotel Ballast Wilmington (North Carolina) have been signed and are set to debut as part of Hilton’s collection of original upscale hotels in 2018.

“These distinctive properties truly reflect the independent spirit of our collection for their character, vibrant locales and history,” said Mark Nogal, global head, Tapestry Collection by Hilton. “From the rich culture of New Orleans, reflected by The Troubadour through its locally inspired offerings and location in the heart of the city, to coastal towns brimming with southern charm, these hotels undergird our efforts to build an authentic collection brand in markets that reach travelers seeking original, independent hotel options – all backed by a brand they know and trust.”

Specific details of each new hotel are as follows:

  • The Troubadour New Orleans, Tapestry Collection by Hilton (Open) – Located in the blossoming Central Business District near the Mississippi River, The Troubadour exemplifies the vibrant character of New Orleans. The 184-guestroom boutique hotel boasts the Petit Lion – a casual bistro serving specialties such as the Spiced Hanger Steak and Pan Roasted Drum – and the Monkey Board, a lively rooftop bar offering panoramic skyline views across the Crescent City. A quick stroll from the theater scene and nearby French Quarter, the hotel’s vibrant aesthetic sings to locals and travelers, artists and professionals alike. Oozing with a playful passion for hospitality, The Troubadour beats in the heart of the Big Easy, where guests can fall in love with the spirit of the city. The Troubadour is a great addition for Hilton loyalists desiring upscale hotel accommodations in the city, joining the iconic Roosevelt, a Waldorf Astoria hotel, Hilton New Orleans Riverside, Hilton New Orleans St. Charles and DoubleTree by Hilton New Orleans.

Following Tapestry Collection by Hilton’s launch of a youth-centric partnership with Youth Service America earlier this year, to award art-centric, service project grants to youth ages 12-25 in Tapestry Collection hotel locations, the grant application for New Orleans is now live. Those interested can visit www.ysa.org/troubadour for more information and to submit their application.

  • The Cotton Sail Hotel Savannah, Tapestry Collection by Hilton (Opening Q1 2018) – Situated in the heart of old Savannah’s National Landmark and the Historic District, The Cotton Sail Hotel effortlessly blends traditional Savannah charm with upscale modern amenities. Housed within a refurbished late-1800s cotton warehouse, the 56-guestroom hotel features the River House Restaurant and Top Deck – one of Savannah’s only rooftop bars overlooking the historic area below and the picturesque Savannah River.

  • Hotel Ballast Wilmington, Tapestry Collection by Hilton (Opening Q1 2018) – Located in historic downtown Wilmington, the property first opened as an inn in 1970 and was the first constructed along Water Street. With its name inspired by the maritime significance in the destination, Hotel Ballast provides travelers an ideal location on the Cape Fear waterfront with unobstructed views of the USS North Carolina Battleship as well as access to the Riverwalk, a full mile of boardwalk that boasts some of Wilmington’s best shopping and dining. The hotel is undergoing an $8.5 million restoration including its 272 guestrooms, meetings space, pool, lobby and corridors as well as adding a bridal suite leading up to its entrance into the collection next year.

“We are pleased to welcome The Troubadour today, and to announce the signing of The Cotton Sail Hotel and Hotel Ballast, to our newest collection brand. Not only do these hotels help us advance our dedicated efforts to grow our brands in the United States, they are also propelling us toward an expanded footprint in key markets for our guests,” said Bill Fortier, senior vice president, development, Americas, Hilton. “Our strong ownership partners have been an integral part of our success, and we thank them for their efforts in delivering remarkable projects that continue to elevate our brands.”
