New York Life to Host Fundraiser for “A Walk To Remember” January 24th

Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Monday, January 22nd, 2018

The New York Life agents of Savannah will host a bowling fundraiser on January 24 from 6:30 – 9:00 PM to raise funds in support of “A Walk To Remember.”  The walk is slated for April.  A minimum $10 donation is requested for unlimited bowling, includes shoes.  The event will take place at the AMF Lanes at 115 Tibet Avenue.

The funds will support the Grief Sensitive School Initiative created by the New York Life Foundation.  One in twenty children experiences the death of a parent or other family member by the time he or she is 16.  92 percent of educators say childhood grief is a serious problem which deserves more attention from schools.  Only 7 percent of teachers have any bereavement training.  The Grief Sensitive School Initiative will be introduced in Savannah area schools by the local New York Life office.
