Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2018

The Tourism Leadership Council invites nominations from the public for exceptional tourism and hospitality professionals in the Savannah area. It’s officially awards season, and along with the Grammys, Oscars, and SAG Awards, the TLC returns with the 20th Annual Tourism Awards & Scholarship Dinner, which will be held Feb. 22, 2018 at the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center. The annual awards celebrate the people whose hospitality makes Savannah the Hostess City.

“We have so many talented people who make up the backbone of our tourism community,” said TLC President/CEO Michael Owens. “That is why we go all out to celebrate them and their accomplishments.”

Join the TLC in recognizing some of the 27,000 Savannah professionals in the tourism industry by nominating someone who deserves his or her own slice of red carpet stardom. Your nominee could be honored for his or her genuine dedication to the tourism industry that keeps Savannah thriving, and he or she may be the one to bring home a prestigious award at the end of the night. A much-anticipated event, last year’s Tourism Awards brought in more than 500 guests, so let your hospitality star be recognized by sending in a nomination.

The 2018 awards open for nominations are the Service Star Award and Service Leader Award. The Service Star Award is presented to an employee who works directly with guests and consistently provides impeccable service.

The Service Leader Award is granted to an employee on the managerial level who not only demonstrates exemplary service to their guests, but also provides admirable leadership to his or her colleagues.

The nomination deadline is Friday, Jan. 26, 2018. Nominations can be made at www.SavannahTourismAwards.com.
