Asbury Memorial Theatre has announced the cast for its 2018 spring production of “Plaza Suite,” which will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, March 2, 3, 9 and 10, and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 4 and 11 at the Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church, 1008 E. Henry Street, Savannah.

“Plaza Suite,” directed by Dr. Ronnie Spilton, is composed of three acts, each involving different characters, but all set in Suite 719 of New York City’s Plaza Hotel. The first act, “Visitor from Mamaroneck,” is about an unhappy couple revisiting their honeymoon suite to rekindle the romance they had when they were young and in love, but ends in a heated argument as her husband’s alleged affair surfaces. The second act, “Visitor from Hollywood,” revolves around a meeting between a movie producer and his old flame. The suburban housewife believes it will be a casual chat between old friends, but the movie producer and his reputation as a smooth-talking ladies’ man sees it differently. The third and final act, “Visitor from Forest Hills,” is a frantic couple on their daughter’s wedding day trying to coax her from the bathroom she locked herself in, saying she doesn’t want to attend her own wedding. Luckily, this comedic tale ends in marriage.
