Savannah Speech and Hearing Center Honors Linda Larson and Charles Golphin as 2017 Volunteers of the Year

Savannah Speech and Hearing Center, a nonprofit organization serving the speech pathology and audiology needs of the Coastal Empire since 1954, is pleased to name Linda Larson and Charles Golphin as 2017 Volunteers of the Year.

Larson and Golphin received the Annie F. Oliver Award recognizing excellence and a strong commitment to volunteering for the betterment of the Savannah Speech and Hearing Center Community at a special volunteer reception, Monday, February 12, 2018.  The award was created in 1979 to honor Annie F. Oliver, an administrator of the Savannah Speech and Hearing Center from 1962 to 1978 and a community volunteer.  

In 2017, the Savannah Speech and Hearing Center volunteers screened 6940 students in public, private, and preschools in Savannah, Richmond Hill, and Pooler.  In addition, the volunteers spent 1218 hours at Sound Start, mass hearing screening program, and The Stroke Support Group.
