Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Wednesday, February 14th, 2018

The 2018 West Point Society of Savannah Founders Day event will support local non-profit organization, The SD Gunner Fund. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 3 at the Hyatt Regency, 2 W Bay St. in downtown Savannah with cocktails and a silent auction before dinner is served at 7 p.m.  All proceeds from the silent auction will directly benefit the organization’s mission to assist with the expenses of service animals for veterans and disabled children.  Founders Day will also include guest speaker CSM Timothy Guden, 19th Command Sergeant Major of the U.S. Military Academy.

“We are excited for this opportunity of partnership with the WPS of Savannah, an organization which supports the mission of The SD Gunner Fund,” said CEO and Founder of the SD Gunner Fund Britnee Kinard. “We are hoping Founders Day will be an evening of good times for a great cause.”

The SD Gunner Fund assists veterans and disabled children with the financial expenses of owning much needed service animals. These animals require a variety of necessary items to perform their service, such as vests, custom harnesses, and veterinary visits. Services dogs are trained to support individuals with mobility, hearing, psychiatric, and brain/neurological disabilities and perform tasks to meet the individual assistance needs of their partner.

Member tickets for this event cost $60 each while non-member tickets will be available for $70 each. For more information about The SD Gunner Fund, please webjobs.kender.org/sdgunnerfund.
