Savannah Area REALTORS newly elected President, Janet Howard, SAR CEO, Chip Kreps, Multi-List Corporation – Treasurer, George Meyers, and Steven Fischer the Region 5 representative for the National Association REALTORS all traveled to San Juan recently for a summit titled: “Disaster Planning for REALTORS - Prepare, Survive & Thrive.”  The program taught how to work with federal authorities to bring relief to communities, lessons learned in the immediate wake of the disaster, dealing with foreclosures and short sales, rebuilding for the future, incorporating new technologies, and more resilient building options as well as raising funds for the victims.  The conference brought needed convention business to the local economy, and the local contingent brought home first hand knowledge of the potential destruction we face in Coastal Georgia and South Carolina and new information and strategies to share with their membership and affiliates to help better prepare locally.
