Great Dane to Host Signing Ceremony for New Graduate Hires Today

Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2018

Great Dane will host a signing ceremony to welcome five new hires on Wednesday, May 23. The graduating seniors are all from Statesboro-area high schools and received job offers from Great Dane after attending the Charge Ahead Hiring Expo hosted by Ogeechee Technical College.

“One of our core values at Great Dane is that quality products start with quality people,” Josh Frey, plant manager of the Great Dane Statesboro plant, stated. “We are always looking for new ideas and new talent, and are proud to partner with Ogeechee Technical College to support local graduating seniors with their career development.”

The job fair allowed 19 employers in high-demand career industries to interview 131 area students for job opportunities, which led to Great Dane’s selection of the new hires. This year is the first Charge Ahead Hiring Expo for the college, and they plan to continue the job fair each spring.

Job placement for these five seniors does not preclude them from furthering their education. In addition to a signing bonus, Great Dane will offer one student a scholarship after completing their first year of service.  Great Dane also offers tuition reimbursement to employees after two years of service as a standard policy in an effort to encourage growth and career development.

“We want our employees to improve themselves, to further their education, and to grow within our organization,” said Melissa Long, Great Dane Human Resources manager.

The signing ceremony will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23, at the Natural Resources Building at Ogeechee Technical College. Light refreshments and photo opportunities will be provided.
