Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Friday, May 18th, 2018

Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport passenger numbers continue to climb. The airport welcomed 264,921 travelers to the region in April with an increase of 18% in enplanements. The total number of passengers for 2018 are 805,697 an increase of 10% over the same period a year ago.

“The airlines have increased the number of available seats 17.5% and the resulting increase in passengers is proof of demand. This market can definitely support additional growth,” said Lori Lynah director of air service development with the Savannah Airport Commission. “We can also contribute the continued growth to air service initiatives, increased marketing in our destination markets and the popularity of Savannah and Hilton Head, and an overall stronger economy.”

The increases put SAV on track to top 2017’s record growth. So far in 2018, Frontier launched new service to Denver and Philadelphia in May, and American and Allegiant will launch additional new routes in June.
