Savannah Hurricane Preparedness Expo Planned for June 9th

Insurance Commissioner Ralph Hudgens, the Home Depot, WJCL- 22 TV, Chatham County Emergency Management Agency and FLASH - Federal Alliance for Safe Homes will sponsor a free Hurricane Preparedness Expo on Saturday, June 9, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. for coastal area residents in Savannah, Ga.

In conjunction with the start of hurricane season (June 1), the Savannah Area Hurricane Preparedness Expo will focus on providing information on necessary preparations that can help homeowners, renters and businesses reduce significant damage to their property from severe weather and potential financial
hardships.

“This will be the 21st year we have provided this free preparedness event for our coastal residents,”
Commissioner Hudgens said. “Attending this Expo continues to be an excellent opportunity for our coast
residents to get face-to-face, hands-on training from experts on how to protect their lives and property in the event of a tropical storm or hurricane.”

Over 30 exhibitors, which including state and local agencies, first responders, and insurance companies
will be on hand to provide free information to residents in the parking lot of the Home Depot located on
Abercorn Street. The Expo offers exhibitor demonstrations, seminars and a discussion on how to process an insurance claim and a free prize raffle each hour.
