The Conner Law Group Engaged by City of Alma to Fight Back against Opioid Addiction

The Conner Law Group has joined forces with The Tate Law Group to represent The City of Alma in its valiant battle against the ongoing opioid epidemic that has haunted the community.

Since 1999, there has been a 300% increase in opioid prescriptions in the United States. As the number of prescriptions has increased, there been a remarkable increase opioid addiction, making it a leading cause of death for people under the age of 50.

Many opioid addicts report that their first opioid experience was a prescription drug. Thousands of lawsuits are being filed against doctors, hospitals, pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies in an attempt to hold them accountable for the staggering increase in opioid addiction, overdoses, and drug-related deaths in America.

Many of these lawsuits have been filed by states, counties, municipalities and cities such as Alma that are ready to push back against irresponsible actions of the medical community. In many areas, the increase in opioid usage and addiction has led to substantial increases in the cost of public health services, higher drug-related crime rates, and other blights communities.
