Rep. Gilliard to Host 2018 Georgia International Trade and Commerce Summit

State Representative Carl Gilliard (D-Garden City) will host the 2018 Georgia International Trade and Commerce Summit from Friday, August 10 - Saturday, August 11, 2018, in Garden City, Pooler and Savannah. The schedule for the event is as follows:

· Friday, August 10, 2018, from 9 –  10:45 a.m. at Garden City City Hall: Press conference, breakfast and panel discussion;

· Friday, August 10, 2018, from 2 – 3 p.m. at Pooler City Hall: Welcome reception;

· Saturday, August 11, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Savannah City Hall: Breakfast program.

“I encourage those involved in the global economy to be a part of Georgia’s largest and most respected conference on international trade,” said Rep. Gilliard

The two-day conference includes keynote speakers, multiple break-out sessions with expert panelists, a tour of the Georgia Port and reception with consul generals. The event will attract attendees involved in all aspects of the global economy, including manufacturing exporters of all sizes, service providers, importers, educational institutions and government agencies.

The event’s host committee consists of Georgia Commissioner of Labor Mark Butler; Rep. Gilliard; Rep. Pedro Marin (D-Duluth); Rep. Ron Stephens (R-Savannah); City of Savannah Mayor Eddie DeLoach; Garden City Mayor Don Bethune; City of Pooler Mayor Mike Lamb; City of Brunswick Mayor Cornell Harvey; City of Tybee Island Mayor Jason Buelterman; Farooq Mughal, Managing Partner at MSGlobal Partners, LLC; Savannah Port Authority; and Gulfstream Aerospace.

The 2018 International Trade Delegation consists of Consul General of Canada Nadia Theodore; Consul General of Japan Takashi Shinozuka; and Consul General of Korea Young-jun Kim.
