Greenbriar Children's Center Welcomes New Board Members

Greenbriar Children’s Center is proud to announce the addition of two new members of the board of directors. New to the team are Clarence “Tony” Davis and David Frothingham.

Mr. Davis, a native of Harlem, New York, served in the Marine Corps from 1960-64. He then earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Long Island University in 1967. He worked for Spicer & Oppenheim as senior partner/commercial auditor before founding his own company, Clarence A. Davis Enterprises, providing financial and organizational accounting expertise.

Mr. Davis also served as chief financial officer and chief operating officer of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants from 1998-2005 and then joined Nestor Inc., where he served as Chief Executive Officer. He worked as a consultant for the national office of the American Red Cross during Hurricane Katrina and has been Chair of Accountants of Public Interest/Support Center of New York. Additionally, he has been a faculty member at several prestigious educational institutions and currently serves on several public companies’ Boards of Directors. Mr. Davis and his wife, Ann M. Sanders, are the proud parents of Todd Davis and grandparents to Peyton Brook Davis and Addison Sophia Davis.

Mr. Frothingham served two years as a commissioned officer aboard a destroyer in the U.S. Navy, then began a 45-year career as an educator, serving 27 of those years as a headmaster of several East Coast independent schools from Massachusetts to Florida. He retired to Savannah in 2003 with his wife, Patty.

Mr. Frothingham was a founding trustee of the Savannah Philharmonic and served on its board for eight years. He remains active on two Philharmonic committees. Frothingham is an active member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, where he serves as a crew member supporting on-the-water training operations with Coast Guard rescue helicopters. He performs security patrols for the marine safety unit in the Port of Savannah and safety patrols in the waters of the Savannah area. He is an active member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church on Skidaway Island.

Davis and Frothingham join the 2018-19 board of directors, alongside current board members Linsey McDougal, Sonia Renee Grant, Diann B. Scott, Bernard Conyers, Salyon Johnson, Richard de Wilde, Dr. Ann Levett, Randy Houston, Juanita Adams, Dr. Clemontine F. Washington, Dr. Alfred Young, and President Melissa Emery.
