Attorneys Zachary B. Harris and Amy D. Mitchell Join HunterMaclean

HunterMaclean, a leading business law firm with offices in Savannah and Brunswick, recently welcomed Zachary B. Harris as an associate in HunterMaclean’s real estate group in Brunswick and Amy D. Mitchell as an associate in the firm’s employment and business litigation groups.

“Both Zach and Amy are a welcome addition to our team at HunterMaclean,” said Brad Harmon, HunterMaclean’s managing partner. “Their experience and expertise will certainly be an asset to our firm.”

Zach recently practiced as an associate with a civil litigation firm in St. Simons Island and served as assistant counsel for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. Zach has experience with government procurement and contracting, government affairs and administrative law, coastal permitting, condominium and homeowners’ associations, and civil rights laws including the Americans with Disabilities Act. Zach earned his B.S. in political science and religion from Emory University and his Juris Doctor from Georgia State University College of Law. During his time in law school, he worked as a legislative and legal aide for members of the Georgia House of Representatives and the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Zach is a member of the Georgia Coastal Marshlands Protection and Shore Protection Committees and serves on the Citizens Advisory Committee of the Brunswick Area Transportation Study. He is a graduate of Leadership Glynn and an active member of the Young Lawyers Division of the Glynn County Bar Association, the Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce, the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce, and the St. Simons Land Trust.

Amy Mitchell will concentrate her practice in HunterMaclean’s employment and business litigation groups. Prior to joining HunterMaclean, Amy served as a clerk for the Honorable Kathleen Tafoya, the U.S. Magistrate Judge for the District of Colorado. Amy graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.A. in international affairs. She earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Mississippi, where she served as a student advocate for the University of Mississippi Low-Income Housing Clinic. During her time in law school, Amy also completed a volunteer legal internship with the Georgia Legal Services Program in Athens, Georgia.
