The National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force announced that it has established the Herman Lodinger Endowment Fund. Herman Lodinger was a member of a bomber aircrew that was part of the Eighth Air Force during World War II. The Fund was initiated by a $20,000 contribution made in his memory by Holly and Paul Mandelkern, the daughter and son-in-law of Herman Lodinger. The purpose of the fund is to underwrite an annual lecture to be sponsored by the museum on the subjects of the prisoner of war experience of US Army Air Force airmen in the European Theater during World War II and the history and impact of Jewish US Army Air Force members during that war.

“The Mighty Eighth Museum is honored to receive this generous gift. I am deeply grateful to Holly and Paul Mandelkern for their generosity and vision,” stated Scott W. Loehr, museum President and CEO.
