Smoke Cartel, Inc., a leading online retailer and wholesaler of glass water pipes and related accessories for the cannabis industry, today announced it has appointed Andy Thorson to the Board of Directors.

Mr. Thorson brings years of financial and management experience to Smoke Cartel having served in leadership roles in NYSE and NASDAQ listed companies. From 2014 to 2015, he worked as Executive Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at Veracyte, a NASDAQ listed molecular diagnostics company. From 2012 to 2013, Mr. Thorson served as CEO and Founder of Yoot, Inc., a consumer web-application development company offering mobile apps that help consumers improve their appearance online. From 2001 to 2011, Mr. Thorson acted as Corporate Vice President for Varian Medical Systems, Inc., a NYSE listed S&P 500 medical technology company completing acquisitions that produced over $500 million in growth for the company. Mr. Thorson also brings experience in international operations; he constructed, staffed and integrated 100,000 square foot linear accelerator manufacturing plant in Beijing. Mr. Thorson holds a BA in International Relations from Stanford University and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
