Georgia Tech-Savannah offers a wide variety of occupational safety and health training (OSHA) courses to companies and employees across coastal Georgia, to keep your company and workplace free from danger.

Georgia Tech’s Occupational Safety and Health program has been educating private- and public-sector companies and individuals for more than 30 years. Students acquire specialized expertise through invaluable access to Georgia Tech faculty and industry leaders. Their real-world insights and knowledge of OSHA regulations can help your company save money, reduce accidents, earn job promotions, and lower worker’s compensation premiums.

As one of the original four OSHA Training Institute Education Centers, our nationally recognized OSHA programs continue to provide students with the skills necessary to make a positive impact. Here are some of the course offerings for 2019 at Georgia Tech-Savannah:

EST 7140P: Hexavalent Chromium: Managing Exposure and Cleanup January 28-29, 2019 | $495 | This two day course will provide you with the skills and capabilities needed to comply with the OSHA Hexavalent Chromium Standard and the resources necessary to develop a plan of action for cleanup of contaminated jobsites.

OSHA 511: Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry January 29-Feburary 1, 2019 or May 7-May 10, 2019 | $875 | CFR 1910 $40 | OSHA 510 and 511 are the building blocks for all safety and health courses, covering OSHA standards and critical safety procedures with practical application.

OSHA 500: Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry March 5- March 8, 2019 | $875 | 29 CFR 1926 $40

OSHA 501: Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the General Industry March 5, 2019 – March 8, 2019 | $875 | 29 CFR 1910 $40 OSHA 500 and 501 courses equip you with the knowledge of OSHA standards to develop effective safety and health training. Prerequisites apply and are outlined on the website.

OSHA 7845: OSHA Recordkeeping Rule Seminar April 19, 2019 | $160 Simplify the recordkeeping system for your employer using OSHA’s new recordkeeping rule, 29 CFR 1904, designed to improve employee involvement and protect the privacy of an injured or ill worker.

 FREE OSHA 7100: Introduction to Machinery and Machine Safeguarding April 15, 2019 Protect your workers and yourself by learning your proper machine safeguarding techniques. You’ll walk away understanding your legal responsibilities for safeguarding your employees, plus different methods you can use to do so.

FREE OSHA 7105: Introduction to Emergency Planning Seminar April 16, 2019 Augment your skills in handling dangerous situations with our introduction to Emergency Planning Seminar. You’ll learn what OSHA requires and more about how to protect against and respond to chemical spills, fire, severe weather, homeland defense, and workplace violence. We’ll cover general site safety, in addition to Emergency Action Plans and Emergency Response Plans.

NFAP 70E: Standards for Electrical Safety in the Workplace May 13, 2019 | $270 Put safety first! This course provides you with an understanding of the requirements outlined by the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) 70E for electrical safety in the workplace.

OSHA 2055: Cranes for Construction June 18, 2019 – June 20, 2019 | $795 Gain an in-depth overview of both construction and general industry crane standards and how to apply them based on the tasks being conducted in each industry. The course will also provide participants with training and knowledge to become a qualified basic rigger and crane signal person.

OSHA 3115: Fall Protection July 9, 2019 – July 11, 2019 | $790 Get an overview of state-of-the-art technology and OSHA requirements for fall protection, including the principles of fall protection, components of fall arrest systems, and related OSHA policies.

EST 7000: Scaffolding Safety Sept 9, 2019 | $270 The focus of this one-day course is to use “OSHA’s Ergonomics Guidelines for Nursing Homes” document as a basis for any healthcare facility to develop a process to protect workers and their patients.
