Jenkins Athletic Club Announces 3rd Annual “Clays for Kids” March 22nd to Meet Growing Demand of Girls and Boys Athletic Club

Staff Report From Savannah CEO

The Jenkins Athletic Club (JAC), a nonprofit providing a range of youth athletic programs and facilities for Savannah’s youth since 1933, is pleased to announce registration is open for its 3rd Annual Clays for Kids sporting clays fundraiser. Hosted by the Jenkins Athletic Club board of directors, this fun, annual event will kick off at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 22, 2019, at the Forest City Gun Club.

Over the last few years, the JAC’s athletic leagues and facility offerings have reached a point of over-capacity. With this, members of the Club’s board of directors are searching for new funding opportunities to expand their facilities and programs to include all kids and teams who would like a chance to play at the Jenkins Athletic Club.

“Thanks to the generosity of our community-minded friends, the Clays for Kids fundraiser has afforded the Club the opportunity to accomplish a range of critical upgrades to better provide a quality experience for our young members,” said Mark Stevens, Clays for Kids event chair and Jenkins Athletic Club board member. “However, with the tremendous growth and demand of our Club, especially for youth girls’ programs, there is much more work to be done.”

This year, for the first time, the JAC basketball league expanded to include girls teams across three age ranges including 6U, 8U, and 10U. Looking ahead, the Club is continuing to focus on growing programs for our kids and improving its facility offerings to meet their needs (renovate locker rooms, bathrooms, game room, concessions, etc.).

To register for the Clays for Kids event, please visit the Jenkins Athletic Club website at www.jenkinsathleticclub.com and fill out the form on the “Events” page. Online payment option is also available. Teams may also email Mark Stevens for a printable registration form at [email protected].
