United Community Bank is proud to announce it presented a $1,795 donation to the Old Savannah City Mission to fund the purchase of a five-compartment steamer table. The donation was organized by United’s Savannah team members after learning that the Mission’s previous steamer table, which was used to feed nearly 300 homeless citizens each day, was no longer serviceable.

“United Community Bank is dedicated to community improvement, and we are honored to support such a deserving local organization during its time of need,” said Mason Waters, Regional President of Coastal Georgia for United Community Bank. “The work done by the Old Savannah City Mission is consistent with our core values and greatly benefits our community. We are humbled to assist them as they continue to improve the lives of hundreds in Savannah.”

In addition to the monetary donation, United also donated more than seven boxes of laundry detergent, wash cloths and shoes. These donations will help the nonprofit fulfill its mission of feeding, clothing and sheltering the homeless, as well as preparing them for the workforce through the organization’s Urban Training Institute.
