State Representative Mickey Stephens (D-Savannah) will honor Lucius “Bo” Levett’s family with a posthumous Outstanding Citizen Award at his upcoming Legacy Celebration on February 16, 2019 at A.E. Beach High School in Savannah.

“I have known very few people that can leave behind such a long-lasting, positive impact,” said Rep. Stephens. “Bo was not only a friend of mine, but to the entire law-enforcement and athletics communities in the greater Savannah area. He was a great example to his family, teammates and the young lives he mentored. His presence in our lives is missed, and I am grateful to take time to celebrate his life and legacy.”

Mr. Levett was well-known for co-founding the Savannah Officials Association for local sports refereeing. He spent his early career as police officer before joining the Harlem Globetrotters where he travelled to more than 122 countries with the team. Mr. Levett was also recognized by the Georgia Senate in 2015 for his lasting impact in the Savannah area.
