Managers and organizational leaders are increasingly challenged with managing generational diversity in their workforces, Georgia Tech-Savannah would like to help address these hurdles in their next “Learners and Leaders” breakfast series on Wednesday, March 27th, at 7:30 a.m.

Presented by Melissa Furman, MS, DBA, assistant dean for the James M. Hull College of Business at Augusta University, this interactive workshop will provide strategies and recommendations for recruiting, retaining, and managing across generations and creating a work environment that aligns with the unique characteristics of multiple generations.

“Companies that successfully manage a multigenerational team can have a competitive advantage over others,” said Diane Lee, executive director of Georgia Tech-Savannah. “Our coastal community is fortunate to have several universities and colleges, and it’s a goal to keep those graduates in our local area. This means bridging the gap and paying attention to the needs of all employees, regardless of age.”

Due to differing mindsets, work styles, and communication styles, workplaces struggling with maintaining a diverse workforce. This workshop plans to inform attendees on how to:

●      Enhance employee relations, employee productivity, and management effectiveness.

●      Enhance employee recruitment and retention strategies.

●      Increase employee satisfaction and appreciation for diversity.

The workshop and discussion, will take place on the Georgia Tech-Savannah campus at 210 Technology Circle. Breakfast and networking will begin at 7:30 a.m.; the program will run 8-9:30 a.m. Cost, including breakfast, is $15.

Georgia Tech-Savannah’s Learners and Leaders series is an effort launched in 2014 to help companies in the coastal region stay current.
