Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Thursday, April 18th, 2019

Buy Local Savannah will host Marjorie Young at their monthly luncheon on Thursday, April 25. Young, an experienced public relations consultant and president and CEO of Carriage Trade Public Relations, will present “Five Top Business Insights.”

Young has been named Entrepreneur of the Year, Business of the Year and Small Business Advocate of the Year. She is also certified in crisis PR.

She founded Carriage Trade Public Relations Inc. in 1995. Her firm creates positive word-of-mouth for businesses in the community and online by using reputation management strategies. She is also the founder of the REPUTATION MATRIX™ method, which helps businesses create a year-long public relations plan. Marjorie will publish a book later this year.

“I’m excited to share the business knowledge I’ve learned over the last 25 years,” Young said. “I’m hoping that by talking about some of the hurdles I’ve had to overcome along the way, other business owners in Savannah may be able to avoid some of the same issues.”

Formed in 1999, the Buy Local Savannah now comprises over 150 businesses who call Savannah home. Their monthly meetings, which are open to the public, focus on the opportunities and issues inherent in running a locally based business.

The program will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m on Thursday, April 25 at Cohen’s Retreat, 5715 Skidaway Rd. Registration to attend costs $25 for members or $40 for non-members.
