Organizers announced the launch of 7 Days of Giving, a week-long campaign designed to raise awareness of seven charities in the South Carolina Lowcountry and Georgia’s Coastal Empire. The 7 Days of Giving project is a week-long campaign designed to raise awareness of seven charities in the region and empower residents  to break down stereotypical barriers to philanthropy by supporting local community programs. By focusing on online micro-donations, which can be mobilized quickly and easily, the goal of the campaign is to revolutionize charitable giving, eliminating socio-economic divisions and helping communities understand that the small efforts of individuals - when taken as a group - can have a significant impact on a region.

7 Days of Giving will support and highlight the amazing work local charities are doing to improve the region, encouraging online donations that demonstrate the incredible power behind coming together as a community. Each day between June 1 and June 7, 2019, the campaign will shine a light on a different organization helping the community and ask readers to donate online.

Participating charities include:

The Agape Family Life Center (Hardeeville, SC)

National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force (Pooler, GA)

Palmetto Ocean Conservancy (Bluffton, SC)

Faith Equestrian Therapeutic Riding Center (Guyton, GA)

EmployAbility (Savannah, GA)

Chatham Savannah Authority for the Homeless (Savannah, GA)

Pockets Full of Sunshine ( Hilton Head Island, SC)

7 Days of Giving is powered  by LaterPay, a revolutionary software that will allow users to capitalize on the impulse to do good after audiences read or view a story about an organization working to better the local community. By strategically using social media to spread the word about these organizations that are making a positive impact in their communities, the project will focus on generating micro-donations from a large number of community members  — rather than relying on larger gifts from individuals —  which will help donors realize the incredible impact they can have to effect  change when working together as a community.

“Individually, we can all do small things, but together we can be great. Everyone in America is generous and wants to help - our mission is to make it easy for them to do so,” said Hal Bailey, Chief Revenue Officer at LaterPay. “The way people donate is changing, and we believe that by focusing on micro-donations from a large community, local charities are going to see a real impact - both in terms of monetary support and regional awareness.”
