Chatham Area Transit has extended the period in which riders can fill out an online survey and offer feedback for the major route redesign project, Let’s Go! Designing Better Transit Together.

Individuals now have through Sunday to fill out the survey to help CAT determine what is most important to the community as two different route concepts are illustrated.

The “high coverage” concept depicts a larger service area with less frequent service, while the “high frequency” concept depicts maximized ridership with high frequency service in more densely populated areas.

The survey is part of the second phase of the three-phase process and no changes will be implemented this year, said Chief Strategy Officer Patricia Harris-Morehead.

“We’re in the information gathering stage right now,” Harris-Morehead said.

“The input collected throughout the process will be used to help develop a report for moving forward, which will be presented to CAT’s Board of Directors for review and direction on next steps.”

Meanwhile, individuals can go online to letsgo.catchacat.org to learn more about the system redesign. Go to surveymonkey.com/r/LetsGo2 to access the survey. Paper copies of the survey are also available at the Joe Murray Rivers Intermodal Transit Center, 610 W Oglethorpe Ave. Information is also on display at all Live Oak Public Libraries in CAT’s service area, including Bull Street, Carnegie, Forest City, islands, Oglethorpe Mall, Port City, Southwest Chatham W.W. Law and West Broad. CAT staff will also be available to answer questions about the project at the following events:
